Yep. I've had men answer the door and refuse to let me talk to their wife and say, "You've made a mistake, she isn't a Democrat. I've also had women whisper, "Don't tell anyone but I'm a Democrat."

I had women tell me the same thing in Nevada, when I canvassed for Obama. It was heartbreaking hearing these women tell me they couldn’t vote differently than their husband.

This happened to me canvassing in The Dalles, OR in 2018. And phone canvassing SO MANY TIMES w/men refusing calls to their wives. Also, conservative parents angrily refusing contact w/their adult children who were registered Democrats. Authoritarianism lives in families too.

When I was phonebanking yesterday, the hubs answered the phone, I asked for the wife. He asked who was calling, told him EW campaign and he said oh she wont want to talk to you and hung up. Hope these ladies are voting in their own interests!
