NEW: In response to exploitation by Uber & Lyft, drivers in NYC are forming a worker-owned rideshare cooperative called @TheDriversCoop.
The new app offers cheaper rides and returns all profits to the drivers.

When riders take an Uber, they are charged a booking fee and a fee per minute and mile of their trip. Before the drivers get any of that, Uber takes up to 40% of this as a “service fee.” Co-op Ride takes just 15%, and any profits are paid back to the drivers as dividends.

While Uber and Lyft spend hundreds of millions of dollars to pass anti-worker legislation, at @TheDriversCoop “the people making the decisions are your fellow drivers. The board members are your fellow drivers.”
