My maternal grandfather was a freedom fighter who was once jailed while fighting for farmer's rights during independence. He used to write letters to my grandmother addressing her as "Mon Ami". After years, my mother read one of those and that's where I got my name from :)

If “your RA”: * conducted your literature review * spent months on location collecting data * wrote tons of code cleaning or analyzing your data * did all the time consuming things you did not have time for They deserve to be a co-author, not a thank you footnote!
The only sustainable way to stay motivated or successful is to expect zero external appreciation, validation or cheering. Those things don't last.

My non Bollywood watching husband had only 2 observations - 1. For a spy the laptop used is pretty low budget 2. There are no/barely any yaks in Afghanistan. 😅

Airports are a great place to have a nail bar business. Given the amount of time they take to do fancy nails 💅, they'd never run out of customers who would have reached early for their flight!

Anyway parents leave 5 hours before the scheduled time to reach the airport. Now with the PM in the city they might leave 10 hours in prior 😅. So much for one man visiting the city!

I have a feeling that the whole Air India issue is going to open Pandora's box of how entitled men behave on an aircraft. It's going to be the groundswell moment. I hope it is.

Some Bengali dishes take around 4 hours to make from start to end. For example Shukto. Quite a difficult prep given it's only supposed to be an appetizer and looks deceptively simple.
