It was a bris. A sacred family ceremony, like a christening. A time for reverence and joy. 8 people were killed by a monster with a gun. Despite the fact that 3 police were shot, the President blamed the victims because in America, you’re supposed to arm yourself AT A BRIS?

Bris literally means the circumcision ritual. Free speech aside, it’s a pretty insensitive comment to make at this time. I know Jews who disagree w/it, but unlike the gun debate, stopping circumcision won’t help stem tide of gun deaths.
-
There's a growing number of Jewish parents who are opting for the ceremony without the circumcision. It's called a Brit Shalom (instead of a brit milah) and the ceremony is very similar but without the circumcision. We dont know which was occurring today and I'm not assuming.

Ok, interesting.

I'm actually very supportive of keeping babies intact, and my friends who are Jewish have opted for the Brit Shalom should they ever have a boy, that's why I know what it is to begin with.
-
Understood. I maintain that my assumption was a fair bet, but I'm happy to retract (so to speak) if it comes out that the baby is intact.
-
I think you're barbaric for commenting about the ceremony at this particular juncture. I'd be happy to retract if it comes out that your sense of propriety on tragic occasions is intact.
-
Grateful that no children were injured or killed in this attack.
