One of the greatest things about America is the autonomy of the states. If you dislike the way California is building it's high speed rail, you can move to Texas. If you're right, California will suffer while Texas will prosper. Competition efficiently allocates resources.

Whereas in China, a system with relatively greater central autjority and fewer checks and balances, if the central authority fucks up your only recourse is to leave China. Suppose you could log onto google from jiangsu but not zhejiang, this stupid policy would end fast!

The best thing I have read in 2018 so far! Anyone with connections to the government to propose this? I'd say this would be immensely successful! I'll propose Shenzhen for free internet access, far enough away from Beijing anyway
