I think there have been studies on this, but I'm pretty sure being given a non-standard first name, particularly if it's not "ethnic", is highly correlated with high-magnitude weird personal, social, and economic outcomes.

The observation (true or not, I don't know) reminds me of how adopted children are disproportionately represented amongst our tech titans: Ellison, Jobs, and Bezos are all adopted.
