This of course begs the question: what if there not better options? Also, I spent a bunch time trying to find an English language tariff list for importing into China and failed. Any idea of the current level of tariff recriprocity?

I don't know off the top of my head aluminum and steel tariffs, I would guess not bad for many reasons but if have to check. Where they really get you are the NTBs. Problem: given the broad nature of the move this isn't about correcting the problem

I think it depends on the product, but NTBs are CERTAINLY a huge problem for American companies in China, particularly in high-tech and IT. Agree with your point re: the broadness of the tariff relative to the relatively greater narrowness of the problem.
