Trying to Occam's razor healthcare in the U.S. and struggling hard. Is this all correct? 1. Hospitals must take care of non-paying homeless and undocumented, and thus pass the cost to paying customers. 2. Hospitals make little to no money on Medicaid and Medicare patients
5. The ensuing fight over these bills leads to increased administration on both the health insurance and health provider's side 6. Pharma companies, without the uniquely profitable u.s. market, would have less incentive to develop new drugs and treatments.

pay-for-service, a lot of defensive/CYA medicine (ie tests), families keep corpses alive bc it costs them nothing (in some cases, they get to live in the house and collect the SS checks); premature fetus care even in unlikely cases; high prevalence of chronic conditions
