Is there a carveout in the u.s. fta with Korea for cars? Would think so. It would zeem as though china is following in Japan and Korea footsteps...but we will see. Cars are not injected molded plastics.

Yeah but did Hyundai and Kia have joint ventures with foreign companies to help them get there? I'm reading taiichi ohno's toyoto production system book now. He says building cars requires good mgmt and teamwork. Chinese people are very capable but are weak in these areas.
