Politicians are playing with other peoples' money and don't have the same level of stress or responsibility as 100 million dollar + CEO/entrepreneur.
Unless you're talking about how people perceive his "smarts," I don't think this is right. I think his experience lends itself to much more to knowing when to judiciously go to war or something. He ran a big business, has had skin in the game, and has been in many legal battles.
