This is controversial but shouldn't be: I'm against the American lottery immigration system, chain immigration, and illegal immigration. The U.S. should be admitting more immigrants, but legally and with with higher standards.

1/1 I mostly agree with the first part, but a country is not nor have been nor should be run entirely like a business. Much of government is actually counter measurements against the side effects of business.

2 So I think immigration policies will always incorporate non-business reasons, like cultural proximity (right wing) or diversity (left wing), some level of family integrity, etc.
