I lived in diverse (Brazil/US) and non diverse (Germany/Japan) places and there’s definitely something about our tribalist impulses that makes non diverse places quite more orderly. Theres good and bad on both cases though. Ready to be arrested by DeBlasio now.

Heterogenous countries will have ore inter-ethnic strife, but Germany and Japan are orderly, not because they're homogenous, but because they are homogenously German and Japanese.
