AI Zen: think about the difference between the two: 1) I look at a lot of charts and figures and then make a decision based on gut feeling. 2) I train a neural network using large data sets to and make decisions based on its predictions.

yes, but neural networks can model visual functions quite well so not sure if it makes a difference. #1 is probably closer to unsupervised learning though, #2 can be supervised.

From what I know, they model visual functions well, but not through visual means. It's all converted to numbers...if that makes sense.
