I am trying to figure out if we should lower our Amazon advertising spend. How do you treat products advertised on Amazon? (If you're curious, see next tweet for what advertising on Amazon looks like)

Amazon took a huge chunk out of Google's consumer product advertising sales without many people noticing.pic.twitter.com/Bv1G1YNKMn

First thing, don’t spend the money on ad words for your own brand name. If people are looking for you specifically, they are going to find you.
-
Complicated for us. We have copycats who use our name.

Usually I avoid them, unless it is actually the exact thing I want. Do you have to buy your keywords or else somebody else will cannibalize your results, a la Adwords?
-
Yes, even for our own trademarks.

I always consider them. I usually go off price/ratings. Being at the top helps
