Just because you’re a practitioner doesn’t mean your perception is correct. It’s just correct for your own experience. A non-practitioner can arguably be more objective.

Mostly disagree with that. Anyone who’s been a practitioner in a field over a long period where people who fail exit the sample (I.e. not union job protected teachers) is a very trustworthy source on that field.
