      Can we add USA to the list? Mao saw that sparrows sometimes ate crops so he killed all the sparrows, causing insect populations, which were even worse on crops, to skyrocket. America saw that cops sometimes made mistakes, so we defunded police, causing crime to skyrocket.

          Similar deal, they could decimate crops if they lighted down in their huge flocks. They were also exceptionally easy to shoot. Rather similar to what happened to buffalo
