Amazon is rolling out "customer service as a service". They've used this playbook for: 1. AWS 2. Trucking (http://freight.amazon.com/ ) 3. Small parcel delivery (they pickup and deliver 100% nonamazon orders) 4. Warehousing/fulfillment (FBA) https://www.ecommercebytes.com/C/blog/blog.pl?/pl/2020/7/1593649366.html …

Only to a point. Separately, Amazon wants quality logistics as /differentiator/ for Prime, mktplace and FBA partners. So strategically it will eat the costs, to maintain that advantage, which it has done so far. Would love to see cost calcs if you have any you can point to!

I'm not saying there are no efficiencies in last mile logistics, just not that many, and new costs are going to arise. Right now, Amazon can beat the competitors, but when it is /competiting with itself/, we'll see what happens to logistics margins.
