      Slavery & Jim Crow were horrible atrocities that halted black progress for centuries. The welfare state as well as affirmative action have continued to halt black progress by creating greater obstacles resulting in worse outcomes. Yet, people want more government involvement?

      Where do I read about the harms of the welfare state on black people? I tried reading lbj’s great society Wikipedia for this reason but didn’t get anywhere. Thanks.

      Here's how welfare programs persist the cycle of poverty: A. Having kids entitles you to government programs which give you money, free housing, and medical care B. The more kids you have, the more money and benefits you receive C. Earning too much disqualifies you from benefits
