I don’t think we’ll get a vaccine for covid. - we have no vaccines for any other coronavirus and we’ve tried - other coronaviruses only grant short-term immunity from infection - increasing reports of people getting reinfected - the body’s covid antibody response is temporary
Antibodies either disappear or lessen greatly in a couple of months. There are apparently other ways to become immune to a virus and those appear longer lasting (t cells).

There was a single study that I read that followed antibody decline. They found significant decline in overall antibodies (>70%), but only an 8-12% decline in neutralizing antibodies (the ones that give immunity) after 3+ months. Considering 100% of the virus was removed, and 1/2
