As I said many of months ago, the US’s most realistic covid strategy here is semi-controller herd immunity. Why? - we have two long porous borders with neighboring countries - we have a big country with lots of people - there is a “not listen to govt” culture

We can mandate masks, encourage social distancing, push for vaccines, not stop studies for HCQ or similar, but that’s all. We basically just need to hope that reinfection is not possible.
