1) Most people’s medical issues get worse and not better, especially if it is chronic. My dad has nerve issues from the discs in his back, I told him to get a disc replacement, where they insert new metal/plastic discs and he said there is no such thing. ....

2) Because no doctor has offered that solution and “they know.” He has only been offered disc fusion and doesn’t want to do it. He has to take 3 OxyContin a day just to be able to walk and function.

Ugh, that is terrible. I'm sorry to hear that :-/ Backs are terrible.

And he refuses to take any advice from me . I tried to show him that he can have surgery and fix his back even in his 60s. I believe he is just afraid of being paralyzed.
