There is a political heuristic that in my (brief, scant) lifetime never failed: when a prominent individual "in one tribe" supports a policy "on the other side" the odds of that policy being "not terrible at all" (sometimes even decent for the people, imagine) increase massively.
I think this is a bad heuristic. Iraq was, patriot act, and the cares act are all examples to my mind in support of my claim.

hm patriot act is a good counterexample, will have to rethink it. Cares act though is good as passed, why do you think it is terrible?

I don’t remember all the provisions, but the $600/week extra unemployment was fucking terrible.
