Insane as it sounds, I LOVED paying taxes during my criminal period because I felt it "legitimized" the money I was making while also absolving me of the feelings of guilt ("... sure it's wrong, but look at how many people are being helped with my tax payments" I thought).
You should have hit me up a few years ago and prior to prison. Your idea, though, is genius because back then if I owed $950K I would have been LESS aggressive with deductions to hit 1MIL in taxes if it "earned" me some recognition. I don't think I'm alone (well, maybe I am ...)
