Network effects are powerful, but does Zoom really have any network effect? Unlike Twitter where people join to follow/be followed, with video conferences users just click a web link for whatever meeting they are joining that one time...https://twitter.com/LT3000Lyall/status/1268381581334306816 …

Excel > Zoom re network effect.
For a prject, barrier to switching so spreadsheet doesn’t need to be recreated. Complex learning curve lock usage in for future projects.
Video conference just a link could use a different service every time you have a call same proj or not1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

Also, was just thinking an illustration of this is how google meet tries to hijack all web meetings via google calendar by inserting and making the google meet link prominent Can’t really do that with google docs / sheets etc.

I think excels network effect is weaker than zoom’s. See my conversation with Girdley. Also worth noting that gsheets and open source open and write xlsx while zoom doesn’t work like that. I can’t apple FaceTime in.
