Hey dude, you're just wrong. You cannot tell me that there is ZERO chance something that solves climate change will be invented. If you don't see how demand for inferior to fossil fuel solar power and electric cars are evidence for that, then you'll never get it.

That took a harsh turn. Of course there is a chance. I hear Jerry saying it is much more likely we will need a political solution and that the market alone is unlikely to solve the problem. Externalities make it hard for private actors to profit from the benefit they create.

Remember that Tesla required loads of government funding, and all those inventions you talk about depended on basic science funded by government. Government without capitalism and capitalism without government are equally useless.
