I am curious if game outlets that diversify to try to expand their reach actually make any money out of that or if they turn off their original audience and lose ground

McKinsey and the other big consultant companies come out every year with reports about how diversity in management AND marketing increase the bottom line.

The issue (like the NFL owners) is that companies believe white people to be more adverse to diverse representations on screen than they really are. They throw the baby out with the bath water consistently, because racism is illogical.
