Can you choose what you want to become? I feel like we have a evolutionarily programmed role that we are suited for in society. You can be high or low scale version of that, but you can’t be something different. There are many jobs I could do for hour that I could not do for life

Agree, the tweet goes in the same direction. The focus I intended is: if one wants X then he must do tasks A, B, C. And it’s okay to then decide to do Y instead, or to re-scope X to X’, but going “I’ll become X by doing only A and B” is likely to be a frustrating choice.
