Buffett worship is the canonical example for my “if you do what everyone else is trying it ain’t gonna work” narrative. :-)
Buffett always talks about how he had to unlearn some of Ben Graham’s teachings to take his businesses to the next level. I increasingly feel like I need to unlearn the idea that buffetts strategies continue to work today. Too much competition and a different environment :(

Which Buffett strategies are you referring to? The ones I think are key are: define your circle of competence and don’t swing at pitches outside that zone. Look for moats. When you get the fat pitch, swing hard. Be tax efficient by making extremely long term investments.

Agree with all that. That’s just wisdom. What I’m talking about is great assets at reasonable prices outside of tech. That took him far over multiple decades but it seems like even he has given up on it.
