I’ll have enough money to send my kids to college, sure, but where’s the benefit to me from selling this narrative? If anything I’m just shooting my self in the foot.

Of course. I bring that up not as a personal attack — but I think the actions of those people originally selling the idea are telling as we all consider whether we agree with it or not.

I think there are much better teachers on YouTube than University of Oregon. That's where my perspective comes from.

For the record: I think college is poorly implemented and needs to be worked on. But it’s the best we have.

2nd, people really discount the things you gain in the college experience that you don’t realize you even gained. Things are simple as sounding educated and more complex like learning how to learn. Big ups in the world.

I missed that class unfortunately :(

Dartmouth. 2.8 GPA. Never went to class. Graduated with a double major in math and economics, but like I said, I completely squandered the opportunity. Spent the whole time playing video games, chess, drinking, and trying to get laid. I understand I am a unique case.

That was about my experience in uni, except accounting and econ. I constantly withdrew from classes where I'd ask the teacher why, and they kept telling me to take it as given. Then I learned that the whole field of psych is a big fraud.

There is a case to be made for taking a gap year or two before uni. Your experiences do align with that, it seems.

Yeah I should've done that. I didn't want to be there and I had a really tough time in year one. Really tough. Almost dropped out.

I solved that problem
@orrdavid by not attending class. I did enjoy my math classes though. I wish I had taken some comp sci or you know....had any direction in my life (didn't get any from parents - not their fault though, they were in tough circumstances).2 replies 0 retweets 1 like -

I didn't go to most classes, either. I'd try the first lecture, and decided for most not melt my brain. Unfortunately, I listened to the efficient market theory, or I'd have got into the market way sooner. My dad even wanted to back me, before he went broke.
