It's not even close unless it's a top 20 school, then the connections/relationships are worth it.

I have a contrarian opinion: All the top 100 colleges are underpriced — especially if you play the games to get discounts (aka “student aid” and scholarships).

To be fair, there are some — a minority for sure — who don’t party and who study things that are both relevant and currently necessary for their future careers.

Agreed. The current system, as messed up as it is, is still right for a lot people. Just not me and not a lot of others.
