Afaict, what’s happening in the USA is the first time the world has ever seen mostly unabated coronavirus transmission meeting a decision to not lockdown. History is being made here.

I bet states will lockdown when icu this 90% capacity. Of course by then it’ll be too late and they’ll get deluged with time-lagged infections. I don’t believe the report out of NJ saying 12% of nursing home patients died, but if it’s close to true, wave 2 in NJ won’t be so bad.

I'm not as pessimistic. Myriad countries have continued to have muted or even declining numbers of new infections after re-opening. This is likely due to the summer weather, mask-wearing, and perhaps other unknown factors.

Approx. what mask-wearing adherence are you seeing there? If it is above 85% I think that is good enough.

Lol above 85% Between 5-10% wear masks in Texas and many don’t wear them right.
