to be precise, Ladakh is a separate entity. Ladakh was previously part of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Last, year the state was reorganised into 2 union territories, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Ladakh is culturally and geographically different from Jammu and Kashmir.
