Social media has thrown a wrench into the analysis of LKY. Further, I'd argue that the United States increasingly no longer has a monoculture (maybe to outsiders, it still does?). By LKY's logic, in order to create a homogenous society once again (which he implies is necessary)
we will need to place some restrictions on the press. That's the implication. With social media that's moot, but even if social media didn't exist, I'm not so sure. We shall see!
