Serious question: Where will it end? Gone with the Wind was taken off of streaming services just recently. It seems like what is ans is not acceptable is a moving target so how will we know when we have cleared all the problematic artifacts of our past and present?https://twitter.com/wizards_magic/status/1270825048241135616 …

GONE WITH THE WIND was taken off of one streaming service, which has said it's going to put it back up with a discussion of context but leave the original film intact. Still available to stream everywhere else.pic.twitter.com/dsFek9zukS

Appreciate the additional info. That said, I think my point that self-censorship continues to expand still stands. It doesn't always make sense to extrapolate out a trend, but...it's been continuing unabated now for a while.

What you call "self-censorship" I would call "being more thoughtful" since imo you can only be censored by others. Magic: The Gathering reviewing their catalogue to check for racial stereotypes is reasonable self-reflection, not censorship.

Yes, this is self-reflection as well. A business made a business decision on which items to promote. Businesses do this all the time. I see it as akin to a company taking certain ads off the air based on current events. Again, commonplace.

Dartmouth banning AD would be self reflection too right?

But it is self reflection. Afaik, there was no case with the local governmental jurisdiction. It was extrajudicial discipline. Okay so you support banning AD. I don’t know what went on but I disagree. Anyways, I’m arguing that this is a moving target and over the next couple of

years, you’re going to see, like you did with Ice Cubes wonderful post, that the mob will adopt increasingly ridiculous views. Well just have to wait and see.
