I tend to view China as a threat to US hegemony and by extension, dangerous. But if you look at how they’ve handled covid and the economic transformation of 1.4 billion people, amidst uncertainties like climate change, maybe they’re not a threat but instead the only hope?

Interesting perspective, with the threat of climate change largely disregarded by the US and our present inability to handle a predictable challenge such as a pandemic, I wonder if your right. Especially if the consequent suffering gives way to irrational left/right populism
