Lot of “lose my reputation” What does that mean exactly? We are afraid of being labeled one way which would cause us to be harmed how? What opportunities are lost if not job?

asymmetric risk reward. The reward (educating others) is virtually non-existent due to echo chamber effects and if you do actually change someone's mind, you often don't find out. The risk (others misunderstanding/misinterpreting/negatively labeled) is through the roof.

What's the downside to being misunderstood/misinterpreted/negatively labeled? It's just unpleasant or there are actual real economic downsides? What comes to mind first.
