People who think that reallocating funding towards police training will change anything must be the same people who think public education’s main problem is insufficient budget.

Unless the money is used to make the training longer. In Norway police training takes 3 years, and the mere length of it apparently filters out some people you really want to filter out.

Norwegian people are different. Their prisons are also, relative to US prisons, club Méditerranée. The idea that we can just train people for longer to solve this problem is absurd to me. If I did a Monte Carlo simulation with you as a cop, doesn’t matter your training, mistakes

It’s the nature of the job. Cops get scared (justifiably). Sociopaths will make it onto the force. Long list of reasons why this whole debate is focusing on a very difficult problem, when there are more deadly lower hanging fruit.
