Cardiovascular heart disease mortality has fallen tremendously since the 1960s. It's not totally clear why this is.pic.twitter.com/oEtbn8HAQJ

More interestingly, CHD mortality is higher today than it was in the early 1900s. Prior tweet source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5268076/ … This tweet source: https://www.amjmed.com/article/S0002-9343(14)00354-4/pdf …pic.twitter.com/sq5XsqGazG
Another weird graph from the same AJM study. Mortality went down between 1970 and 2000, but heart attack hospitalizations went up. This implies, to me, that while mortality may be falling, I'm not sure morbidity is. I looked everywhere for stats on this and couldn't find any.pic.twitter.com/gqjv6Ktk4E
If you get a heart attack today, you're way less likely to die from it than you were 40-50 years ago.pic.twitter.com/QAN1PBY6OO
