5% of all arrests in America are for violent crime and fewer than 1% are for murder. If that’s your argument, then you should at least be in support of cutting police budgets by 95-99%. https://twitter.com/germanrlopez/status/1268408728950394882 …

Saying "crime is low, therefore we should get rid of the police" misses the point that crime could be low BECAUSE of the police. Let's say there have been no people killed by tigers at the zoo for over 30 years, that doesn't mean we should get rid of their cages.

"Data shows that the raw numbers of police have declined over the past five years, and the rate of police officers per 1,000 residents has been dropping for two decades. At the same time, the violent crime rate has also dropped."https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/2818056002 …

It's not that simple though. Just because cops are falling doesn't mean fewer cops => less crime. Over the same period, look at what has happened to our prison population.pic.twitter.com/oAXukWJ92h

Yes and if everyone is either a cop or in prison, we'll be the safest, freest nation on earth. Let's get that prison population UP!
