Agreed but hard to take the totally messed up communist system and the mentalities that come with it and turn that around. I have a lot respect for Deng. He was exiled by Mao and put under house arrest iirc. Look at how Russia did in comparison. Disaster.
Kind of off topic but I think you told me about Li Lu and his role in the protests? I don’t want to put words in your mouth but there’s a lot of stuff like that that affects my view of American portrayal of Tiananmen.
I know. Also people like me are too chicken to speak out even now. That's the most profound effect that event had on China and Chinese. Most of us gave up.
