Temporal range = range of time a species exists. According to paleontologists, "modern humans" have been around for ~250,000 years. Dinosaurs = 245m years ago - 65m years ago Alpacas = 40m years ago - ? Elephants = 2.5m years ago - ? Humans = 250,000 years ago - ??????
Haha, this one is a bit bleak. My answer is ∞ Doesn't 250k years with alpacas being around for 40 million years seem a bit short?

No idea if this is true or not but it seems reasonable. Animals apparently have a sense of time, so, trivially, no it does not if those animals survive.
