Compare across same social starts for white and Indian Americans. You'll be surprised

Fair. For similar social status whites may be higher but again: sundar pichai, satya nadella, ceo of fedex. There are many more. I still think the prejudice vs Indians is overstated

Watch BBT. The entire characterisation of the Indian Chap is about prejudice(and being blind to it). Including his enjoyment of beef: which is base-level offensive to Hindus. Point is, it's spectacularly hard to be observant Hindu and progress. Even more so if Ethnically Hindu.

Muslim characters by Hollywood get the more burqa or scarf-wearing and observational + 'modern' treatment. As Mainstream as NYT thinks nothing of publishing cartoons that are deeply racist and offensive to Indians / Indian origin. In 2018.

I don’t know what bbt is but I watched the entire mindy kaling show on Netflix. Muslims face much more serious discrimination in the USA than Hindus. I will say that.

I don’t know if you are in USA or not but you should get that idea out of your head. Manoj bhargava, pichai, nadella are all hindu. You can progress as one if you let yourself. No one cares about your religion. Hinduism means nothing to most Americans.

That's what I meant by in-group don't get out-group struggles. You're dismissing it cos you don't understand it. Obama extinguished all racism?

No. I do get it because I was outgroup in China and faced some incidents there.

I'll try and write about it. And share the link. (And it's not about incidents. I have had racist comments yelled at me, but that isn't what I referred to).

I’ve had worse happen to me, fwiw. - faced a huge fine - had my lease ripped up - had one day to leave my apartment - had to leave the city I was in because cops kept coming after me I walked into a police station. First thing I heard was the arguably derogatory word for

White foreigner “laowai”. Then I got shaken down :) I know what it’s like to have people of another race look at me like I don’t belong. It’s especially bad if a woman of their race wants to hold your hand. Don’t tell me I don’t understand. It’s obnoxious.

Sorry to hear that. However: That. Isn't. What. I'm. Referring. To. (And I'm not saying that what you experienced isn't bad, or not upsetting.)
