I agree with all of that. Economic risk is Australia and Canada have eye popping household debt to gdp, which will eventually cause problems even if it hasn’t mattered yet. USA hh debt/gdp topped out at 90 with the housing bubble. Australia marched right on to 120 and growing.
Yeah that’s what happened so far, they have just continued to grow and grow, in Australia’s case this is their first recession in nearly 30 years! But it’s a risk factor that makes their economy and especially their banking system more fragile and susceptible to systemic crisis.
But strategically they are really uniquely positioned to thrive in many ways.
