It's also a downward spiral for follower counts haha. As soon as you pick a side, you lose followers, unless you commit fully to that side (and then limit yourself to people who pre-agree with your views).

Agree on the process but not on the outcome. It seems to me that many multimillion follower accounts are such because they picked sides.

Right. Short-term, you lose followers. Long-term, if you commit 100%, you will do well. Define a brand and stick with it.
