I think it's widely accepted that stock prices might go down temporarily but a lot of people assume they'd always go back up quickly afterwards.
Among people who don't study financial history, the idea that housing prices never go down is widely accepted. Much of this can be attributed to inflation in housing prices. Could we be seeing a similar idea develop in the stock-market?
