Yeah, it’s also so weird that they chose the mail-in ballots to take the fact checking stand as opposed to the random accusation that Joe Scarborough is a murderer.
Thinking about it more, the widower’s letter to Jack probably was the turning point, but they decided it would be from then on rather than retroactive.
The guy they hired to do their censorship called Trump an orange tangerine. There are so many wrong, harmful things said on this website. For them to start with the president, to me, shows bias or abject stupidity.
No question of bias, but they’ll try to check left and right. They did fact check Ice Cube’s fake photo of the cop wearing a Make Whites Great Again hat.
I think you've already come across my viewpoint on this. This fact checking can be done by other users or the courts. The cop should lose his job for what he did, but he lost it for the hat, then he'd have a claim against Ice Cube. This is a good disincentive:pic.twitter.com/ywxMBrSRLg
Yeah, I agree Twitter shouldn’t be trying to be the arbiter of truth. I also agree they’re biased. I just don’t think they agree, so they’ll keep fact checking, and they’ll try to do it without bias but fail
Agreed. I bet we end up with some half-assed stupid cockamamey version of the law I am proposing. A "compromise" between what Twitter's trying to do and what they should do (which is nothing).
They’re actually opening themselves up to these lawsuits by publishing the fact checking. If they’re wrong, they’re liable now.
Their first fact check on the ballots was wrong and the article had to be corrected. Off to a horrible start with this.
Twitter wants to learn this one the hard way I guess.
