accusation that she is racist against black people, when she looks black. The way "cancelling" works is pretty interesting. Basically, if enough people accuse you of being racist, people without courage stop associating with you. This effect cascades and you become a pariah.

Once more and more people know about this, it will take an increasing amount of courage to play her music at a party. Someone will make an ostentatious comment about how "you shouldn't play that because she..." and the song will get skipped. /fin

I had a very similar thing happen to me in college. The attitude of these accusers often is "probe with bayonets - if you encounter mush, proceed; if you encounter steel, withdraw." Be the steel.
