That’s life. It’s rare that you don’t have tonn no pivot every 5-10 years in my experience (I have had to pivot many times in my short career).

I agree those most people seem to find it very difficult!

Molson and I are reading Andy Grove’s Only the Paranoid Survive and he makes this point. It’s hard to recognize inflection points and need to pivot. He calls it the “Inertia of Success”. CEOs often replaced not because they’re bad but struggle to shift away from what used to work

Just give us a bit more time is also death knell for failing new products. If it's going to work, you'll know out of the gate.

I’m guessing the inflection point for iPods was making them available for PCs, not just Macs
