Genders are perceived as a social problem in English, but not in gendered languages such as French and Italian, in which unless a title is used to qualify a specific person, the title itself defaults to a dictionary-defined gender, and everyone's okay with it. Overton, I guess?
Too esoteric to be outside the window. I didn't know that about gendered languages. That's pretty interesting. I just looked up French cheeses hoping to learn that "la brie" would complain about earning less than "le roquefort" only to learn all cheese is masculin(e).

What % of Italians consider Mario Balotelli Italian? I scanned his wikipedia and it seems like all the incidents where people threw bananas at him or made monkey noises happened outside Italy.
