There are a lot of accounts on Twitter which would be good follows were their main reason for being on Twitter not fund-raising.

I have to agree and would add "selling courses" or some other agenda. I've unfollowed most of the course-seller people now. The idea (for me) being a "karmic" approach being better. Just give on here and then don't worry about personal gain cause it will come.

Agree with the karmic approach. A lot of the guys who are (indirectly) selling something create value too, but when you reply to them, you can tell they're playing a different game. The conversation only happens if it will positively promote them.
